A food diary that counts calories from a photo
In Tonus, nutrition sits next to your workouts: your calorie target is built from your data, and you can log food with a photo, your voice or text.

How to log food
Take a photo of your plate. A neural network identifies the foods and the approximate portion size, and the app counts calories, protein, fat and carbs. You can adjust the grams before saving.
Take a photo of a label. The app reads the nutrition facts per 100 grams, and you only enter how much you ate.
Say it or type it. A phrase like "two-egg omelet and a coffee with milk" becomes an entry with calories.
Your own calorie target
During setup the app asks for your height, weight, age, activity and goal: lose, maintain or gain. Resting energy is calculated with the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, then activity and a shift for your chosen pace are added.
When you update your weight, the target is recalculated. Protein rises with the depth of the deficit, so you lose fat rather than muscle. The target never drops below a safe minimum.
Water, fiber and diet quality
Your water goal comes from your weight, your fiber goal from the day's calories. A diet quality score from 0 to 100 shows what your diet is missing.
Apple Health
Food and water can be written to the Health app, and weight and workouts can come from it, so the numbers match across apps on your iPhone.

Frequently asked questions
How accurate is calorie counting from a photo?
It depends on the dish. Simple foods and portions on a plate are recognized well, complex dishes with sauces are estimated roughly. That's why the app shows the foods and grams before saving, so you can correct them.
Can I track food without working out?
Yes. The food diary works on its own, workouts are optional.
What happens if I eat more than my target?
Nothing bad: the day simply closes over target. Tomorrow's target doesn't change, the app doesn't punish single days.
